## Get started

Testing the next release? The [1.0.2 practice-session guide](/mobile-app/practice-sessions-beta) explains the large Player action buttons, continuous capture, and build 9's saved-recording recovery and upload checks. Build 9 also adds **Parent / Guardian** and **Already have an account? Sign in** on the welcome screen. TestFlight availability is separate from the App Store release described below.

<Steps>
  <Step title="Choose the description that fits you">
    On the welcome screen, choose **Player**, **Coach**, **Team**, or **Club / Organization**. This choice provides relevant setup guidance; it never grants account access or changes your permissions.
  </Step>

  <Step title="Sign in or create an account">
    Use the email connected to your ProspectHQ membership or invitation. Sign-in, signup, multi-factor authentication, and recovery happen in the native app.
  </Step>

  <Step title="Choose an authorized athlete">
    The app lists only athletes the server confirms you can manage. Select an athlete to upload media, open their profile, or continue to the correct management page.
  </Step>

  <Step title="Use the role-aware home screen">
    Home shows organization, team, or athlete actions based on verified ProspectHQ access. Website builders, member management, billing, and full profile editing open their exact secure page on prospecthq.app.
  </Step>
</Steps>

## What is an authorized athlete?

An authorized athlete is a player profile your signed-in account is permitted to manage. Access can come from an athlete or guardian relationship, an organization role with player-management permission, or an eligible team-management assignment.

The welcome-screen role choice does not make an athlete authorized. ProspectHQ verifies Clerk identity, organization membership, team assignments, player relationships, organization isolation, and current write access on the server.

<Warning>
  Never share an account between coaches or family members. Each person should accept their own invitation so ProspectHQ can apply the correct athlete and team permissions.
</Warning>

## Navigate the app

| Tab | What it does |
| - | - |
| **Home** | Shows role-aware organization, team, and athlete shortcuts |
| **Players** | Lists only athletes you are authorized to manage |
| **Activity** | Shows current upload progress, processing, completion, or an error requiring attention |
| **Account** | Opens security, privacy, support, sign-out, and account-management tools |

### Organization administrators

Home can show organization information and direct actions for **Manage Website**, **Manage Teams**, **Manage Members**, **Manage Players**, and **Billing**. Manage Players stays native; website-only tools open the exact authorized web destination.

### Coaches and team managers

Home shows the teams you are permitted to manage. If you manage more than one team, choose the relevant team before opening team-specific website or roster tools. Athlete access remains limited by the server's team and player permissions.

### Athletes, parents, and guardians

Home shows each authorized athlete separately. Choose **Manage Profile** to open the athlete's secure management page or **New Upload** to enter the native upload flow for that athlete.

<Note>
  Plans and subscriptions are managed on the ProspectHQ website. The iPhone app does not sell subscriptions or include in-app purchases.
