# Getting started with team pages

A team has two connected experiences:

* The **team management workspace**, where authorized staff manage information, rosters, imports, resources, staff access, and the public page
* The **public team page**, where visitors see only published information and active public athletes

## Create a team

<Steps>
  <Step title="Open the organization workspace">
    Sign in, select the organization, and open **Teams**.
  </Step>

  <Step title="Create the team">
    Choose **Create team** and enter the team name, season, sport, and other available team information.
  </Step>

  <Step title="Open the team workspace">
    Select the new team. Use the team management menu to move between **Team info**, **Roster**, **Game records** or **Tournaments**, **Resources**, **Staff**, and **Edit team page**.
  </Step>

  <Step title="Add players and managers">
    Build the roster with **Create or add player**. Invite coaches or managers separately; website staff biographies do not require an account.
  </Step>

  <Step title="Build and preview the public page">
    Choose **Edit team page**, select organization or custom team branding, arrange the visible modules, and preview before publishing.
  </Step>
</Steps>

## Team roles are different from website biographies

<Note>
  A team manager or coach has a signed-in account and management permissions. A staff biography is only public website content and does not grant access.
</Note>

## Sport-aware team workflows

<Tabs>
  <Tab title="Baseball and softball">
    Teams can use GameChanger roster and season CSV imports, completed-game box-score imports, manual game records, performance data, and video.
  </Tab>

  <Tab title="Golf">
    Golf teams use tournaments and golf-specific player records rather than GameChanger games. BlueGolf records are managed from the golfer's player workspace when supported.
  </Tab>
</Tabs>

## What appears on the public roster?

Only players who are active for that team and whose sharing settings allow publication should appear. Removing a player from a roster does not automatically delete the athlete's underlying profile record.
