Best practices

Short, high-impact tips for the most common import and stat workflows in ProspectHQ.

Importing player game-by-game stats from GameChanger

Use a desktop or large monitor when capturing GameChanger screenshots so the parser can read as many fields and games as possible from a single image.
Why it matters: larger screens fit more columns and more games per screenshot, which improves parse accuracy and reduces the number of files you have to review.
1

Open GameChanger on a desktop

Use the largest screen you have and expand the browser window to full width.
2

Show all stat columns

In the GameChanger stats view, expose every stat column you want to import before capturing.
3

Capture in as few screenshots as possible

Aim to fit a full season or a complete section of games in each screenshot. Fewer, larger images work better than many small crops.
4

Upload from the player page

From the player’s Data imports section, choose the GameChanger game import and upload the screenshots. Review the editable preview before saving.
See Loading stats from the player page for the full workflow.

Import team box scores after every game

Coaches, team managers, and organization administrators should export the official GameChanger box-score PDF after each completed game and import it from the team page. One box-score import creates the game record and adds game stats for every mapped player at once.
Why it matters: a single team import updates every player’s game log, so you do not have to load stats player by player.
1

Export the box score from GameChanger

In GameChanger, open the completed game and export the official box-score PDF.
2

Open the team page in ProspectHQ

Go to your organization, choose Teams, and open the team the game was played by.
3

Import the completed-game PDF

Use Import GameChanger game and select the box-score PDFs. You can select up to 126 PDFs at once. Each PDF becomes a game record on the team.
4

Map players once

Review the player mappings. Use suggested matches applies saved and suggested matches to every game in the batch, so you only map each player once.
5

Handle duplicates

If ProspectHQ detects a game that is already imported, choose Import only new games and safely skip duplicates to keep existing games, or Overwrite the matching existing games to replace them with the new import.
6

Save the import

Complete the import. Game stats are added to every mapped player automatically.

Remove duplicate seasons from Import Management

When the same GameChanger season is imported more than once (for example, from different exports), remove the extras so the team and player profiles show a single clean season record. See Removing duplicate seasons for step-by-step instructions.
