Record and review a swing
ProspectHQ’s native iPhone capture can analyze a golf or baseball swing directly on the device. The original video, reviewed phase markers, camera-plane body-position estimates, and capture-quality information are saved together as one Swing Analysis session.On-device swing capture is available for authorized baseball and golf athletes with write access. If the option is missing, confirm the athlete’s sport, your access, and that the app is current.
Capture a useful recording
1
Choose the player and Swing Analysis
In the ProspectHQ iPhone app, open an authorized player, choose New Upload, and select Swing Analysis. Choose Record and analyze swing rather than importing an existing video.
2
Choose the camera view
Golf supports face-on and down-the-line views. Baseball supports an open-side hitting view. Keep the selected view unchanged once recording begins.
3
Frame the athlete
Use the rear camera in good light. Keep the athlete’s full body visible throughout the motion, place the phone on a stable support, and avoid people crossing behind the athlete.
4
Record one swing
Leave a short pause at setup, record one complete swing, and hold the finish briefly. ProspectHQ prefers high-frame-rate capture when the device supports it and stops a recording after the bounded capture window.
5
Review before uploading
Inspect the video and body-tracking overlay. Review the detected swing phases, correct a phase marker when needed, and read any capture-quality notes. You can retake the video or deliberately upload it without automated measurements when the analysis is limited.
What is saved
The confirmed session can include:- Sport, camera viewpoint, recording time, video length, frame rate, and dimensions
- Analysis status, pose coverage, overall confidence, and capture-quality warnings
- Reviewed setup, load or top, transition, impact-window, follow-through, and finish markers
- Camera-plane elbow, knee, shoulder-line, hip-line, and torso-angle estimates when measurable
- A bounded time series of on-device body-joint positions used for the review overlay
- The original private video and a fingerprint used to prevent duplicate swing records
Compare the original and body tracking
Every supported saved analysis uses the same authorized source video in two synchronized views:- Original shows the clean recording without graphics.
- Body tracking shows the reviewed Apple Vision joint overlay.
The body tracking is an interactive ProspectHQ display and is not permanently burned into the source video. On iPhone, review it inline on the profile or full-analysis page; the native full-screen video player can show the clean recording without the webpage overlay.
Public-profile sharing
Training videos remain private by default. In the player’s Public profile controls, Share training videos on public profile is one persistent choice that applies to every current and future training video. A training video is available publicly only when all three settings are enabled:- The player profile is Public.
- The Performance snapshot section is shared.
- Share training videos on public profile is enabled.
Privacy and processing
Apple Vision analysis runs on the iPhone before upload. Temporary analysis frames stay inside the app sandbox. Confirmed videos use ProspectHQ’s authenticated private-storage upload, organization isolation, player authorization, and duplicate protection. ProspectHQ does not send V1 body-pose analysis to a third-party AI service.iPhone recording guide
