Record and analyze a swing
The iPhone app can record one baseball or golf swing and run body-motion analysis on the device before anything is uploaded. You review the video, pose overlay, detected phases, confidence, and quality notes before saving the result to ProspectHQ.This option requires ProspectHQ Uploader 1.0.1 or later and is available to every authorized baseball or golf athlete with write access. It is not available for a read-only workspace or an unsupported sport. If the App Store does not yet offer that version, update when it becomes available.
Record the motion
Testing continuous practice recording? Use the TestFlight practice-session guide. It distinguishes builds 8 and 9 from the App Store release; the steps below describe single-swing capture.1
Open Swing Analysis
Choose an athlete, select Swing Analysis, and tap Record and analyze swing.
2
Choose the camera view
Golf supports Face-on and Down the line. Baseball uses the supported open-side hitting view. Choose the view that matches the phone position.
3
Frame the athlete's full body
Use the rear camera, good light, and a stable support. Keep the athlete visible from feet through head during setup, motion, contact, and finish.
4
Record one complete swing
Pause briefly at setup, record one swing, and hold the finish. Avoid camera movement and people crossing between the camera and athlete.
5
Review the analysis
Play the overlay, inspect detected phases, correct a phase marker when necessary, and read any quality warnings. Retake the recording when framing or pose coverage is poor.
6
Confirm and upload
ProspectHQ uploads the original video together with the reviewed analysis metadata. Progress and processing confirmation appear in the app.
What the analysis includes
When available and confirmed, the upload can include:- Sport, camera view, recording time, duration, frame rate, and displayed dimensions
- Setup, load or top, transition, impact window, follow-through, and finish markers
- Pose coverage, overall confidence, and capture-quality warnings
- Camera-plane elbow, knee, shoulder-line, hip-line, and torso-angle estimates
- A bounded series of body-joint positions used to reproduce the reviewed overlay
- User-corrected phase markers, analyzer version, content fingerprint, and duplicate-protection identifiers
Swing analysis versus pitching and throwing
Record and analyze swing currently provides the native Apple Vision pose workflow for baseball hitting and golf swings. Pitching/Throwing accepts clear videos and measurement screenshots and stores them in pitching or throwing sessions, but it does not claim the swing-specific phase model or measurements. For pitching and throwing uploads, include the complete motion and any available pitch type, velocity, spin, movement, location, distance, device, date, and units. ProspectHQ stores individual pitches or throws as observations when that structured data is available.View the saved overlay
Open the saved Swing Analysis session from the athlete’s Performance area. Supported analyses show synchronized Original and Body tracking views based on the same authorized source video. The overlay is interactive and is not permanently burned into the uploaded video. On an iPhone, review it inline on the player profile or analysis page. The system full-screen video player may show only the clean recording. If the reviewed analysis metadata or authoritative video link is unavailable, ProspectHQ displays Analysis unavailable rather than drawing an overlay over unrelated media.Share training videos publicly
Training videos remain private by default. Share training videos on public profile is one persistent athlete setting that applies to current and future training videos. Public display still requires all three conditions:- The player profile is Public.
- The Performance snapshot section is shared.
- Share training videos on public profile is enabled.
